NEW DELHI: Clean Air Asia, an NGO working on air pollution, launched its 'VAYU' app on Wednesday at Delhi Public School, Palam Vihar that will help educate schoolchildren and parents about air quality and impact of pollution on children and adults.

The NGO plans to reach out to maximum schools in the city. The app allows users to take a pledge and set milestones, which the NGO believes can bring a change in the lifestyle of both children and parents. "It is high time that the citizens are made aware of the risks of breathing bad air. Simple data through smart technology needs to be made available so that people know the impact of air pollution on their health," said Prarthana Borah, country director, Clean Air Asia.

Currently, the app uses CPCB data along with health advisories and encourages people to make a change in their lifestyle decisions.
