Tirupati: Visitors to SV Zoological Park in Tirupati can now ride the cycles inside the premises and watch the animals and birds. In a bid to protect environment and zoo inmates from air pollution, the authorities have decided to introduce cycles to watch the animals and others on premises.

Accordingly, on Sunday, Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests BK Singh inaugurated 30 cycles. Among these, 10 were donated by Dr Ramesh NathLingutla, Chairman of Reach Global Foundation. Another 70 cycles will be added to the existing fleet of 30 soon, said Zoo park curator Y Srinivasulu Reddy.

As the cycles are permitted inside the Zoo park, youth and others can have a cheerful time as they can go around the entire Zoo park with cycle ride and watch their favourite inmates of zoo. If anybody wants the cycle from Zoo they must pay Rs 20 per hour. If one comes with his own cycle, needs to pay Rs 20 per day, said the curator.

Currently, the visitors are ferried through battery operated vehicles inside the zoo park and according to the management this number is also set to increase soon.
