SURAT: A three-day climate change exhibition kick-started on Tuesday in the city with the intention of making people aware of energy saving and environment preservation. The exhibition is being organised by climate change department of state government.This exhibition held at SMC community hall, Althan would have Bio gas plant, Solar water heater plants, Battery run vehicles and government action plan information for the people to understand why it has become necessary to save energy and conserve environment.Government of Gujarat set up separate climate change department to fight climate change in 2009.Opening the exhibition, Ajay Chokshi chief whip of BJP in Gujarat Assembly urged people to reduce pollution and bring the increasing temperatures for better living.State government has given Rs 10,000 subsidy on battery run vehicles and for solar roof top schemes, the central government has given Rs 20,000 and state government Rs 10,000 subsidy.In this exhibition Gujarat Energy development corporation has set up a special van in which people are provided with information about ways and means to save energy.
