BHUBANESWAR: All the activities of the 51st PathaUtsav on Sunday will portray the theme of global warmingand climate change. As the rising temperature has caused so much hardship and people are suffering from the change in the local climate, this will be an eye-opener as the participants would come with loads of ideas to motivate the visitors.
Bhabani Shankar Chayani, additional commissioner of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), said artists involved in live art activity, street plays, songs by the performers, rallies and children's activities organised by social organisations will have the prime focus on these very pertinent issues. "With this, we want to create a public awareness on how to be responsible for a greener and better world,'' he added.
Interestingly, while the PathaUtsav's main theme will hover around such a serious topic of local and international attention, Bollywood singer Shaurin Bhatt will showcase his talent before the visitors of the popular street festival of the temple city.
Bhatt, who got his first Bollywood break with Nadeem-Shravan in film 'Kaashh Mere Hote', has also sung several Odia film songs like Tu Kahibu Na Mu and ZabardastPremika.
Besides this, the PathaUtsav will also have its usual activities and awareness programmes by the regular participants to educate the public, which mainly comes to the Janpath to involve them in concepts based on non-motorised transport (NMT).
Non-government organisations, social bodies and doctors will organise events to create awareness among the people about healthcare safety and how to choose good food for a sound health, training on basic life support system and campaign on blood donation on the eve of World Red Cross Day on May 8.
Some volunteers will organise a programme on 'Saluting the Martyrs of Jammu and Kashmir'.
City-based social organisation People's Cultural Centre (PECUC) will organise child-based activities like talent show, special activities for slum children and 'Know your world'.
Music programmes remain the major crowd puller in the street fest. Young singing talents, AmaKalakarParivar and Shakuntala Music will try to win hearts of the public through their musical performances.
