TRS leader Akbhar Khan arrested in poaching case

Bhupalpalli: The number of persons arrested in Mahadevpur deer hunting case has reached six with the police arresting two more persons, including a ruling party leader, called Akbar Khan, the husband of Mahadevpur ZPTC HaseenaBaano.

According to Mahadevpur DSP KRK Prasad, Akbar Khan and Abdul Raheem alias Munna of Karimnagar were apprehended on Tuesday at Palugula crossroads. The police seized a licensed rifle, arms license, 18 rounds of ammunition and three cell phones from the house of Akbar Khan and remanded them to judicial custody.

It might be noted that earlier the police have arrested four persons, NaluvalaSatyanarayana alias ShikariSattenna, Ashraf Qureshi, Khaleem, Gattanna, grandson of Sattenna and seized the rifle of Sattenna along with ammunition.

Special teams were formed for nabbing the remaining accused, Faizal Ahmed Khan, Shaik Ali, Jalal, Mobin who were absconding. They were accused of involved in illegally hunting of wild animals with the help of Akbar Khan for celebrating parties.

There were no other persons involved except above mentioned persons, the DSP maintained. It was said that the accused have reached in their vehicles to the party office of Akbar Khan at Mahadevpur on March 18 night and on March 19 and they were assembled at chilli farm of Akbar Khan at Pankena village and divided into four groups to hunt wild animals in Sarvaipeta forest area of Palimelamandal.

While retreating from their hunting expedition, ShikariSattennna was said to have threatened on-duty forest officers at Suraram village of Mahadevpurmandal with fire arm. They left hunted deer and Indica Vista car with registration number AP13AE 2752, owned by Faizal Ahmed Khan of Hyderabad and fled the spot.
