New Delhi [India], Apr 18 (ANI): The National Green Tribunal (NGT) on Tuesday sought a detailed compliance report by May 19 from the Delhi Government and state pollution control committee in connection with the usage of disposable plastic in the national capital.
The NGT had earlier on January 1 prohibited the use of plastic in the national capital, asking for strong action against storage, sale and use of such materials.
The tribunal was hearing a petition seeking a review of the December 2, 2016, order imposing the ban on disposable plastic in entire NCT of Delhi.
The NGT had earlier lashed out at Delhi Government for showing ‘laxity’ while dealing with the alarming situation of air pollution and smog in the city. (ANI)
