UP govt takes strong steps to curb air pollution

To curb the air pollution in the state, Uttar Pradesh government today issued a new directive, which says that the vehicle plying from different state or district, have to take a 'No Objection Certificate' (NOC) before entering the 38 listed districts here.

Any vehicle entering from the outside state or districts will get entry in the listed cities only after NOC received from the transport department. Strict actions would be taken against the vehicles entering without NOC.

UP Additional Transport Commissioner Dr Rajendra Prasad said here today that 'National Green Tribunal' (NGT) has directed to ban vehicles older than 10 years for diesel vehicles and 15 years for petrol vehicles in NCR.

Dr Prasad said in first phase order will be in forced in Noida, Ghaziabad, Kanpur, Lucknow Agra, Varanasi and Gorakhpur while second phase will include Faizabad, Allahabad, Aligarh,Bhadohi, Moradabad, Bareilly, Mathura, saharanpur, Jhansi, Mau and 18 other districts.

Dr Prasad said this order will be implemented soon and it is predicted that pollution will be controlled after implementation of this order. UNI JDM MB PS RJ 2000
