Helpchat launches a ‘pollution metre’ feature

Helpchat, one of India’s biggest personal assistant apps, has launched a new ‘pollution metre’ feature that monitors the air in the surrounding environment and delivers you a personalised air quality update.

The app also helps people avoid pollution-related diseases, by tracking air quality in their locality and suggesting various ways to take precautions if it finds that the air they breathe is toxic.

“Like a real-life personal assistant, Helpchat anticipates and suggests ways to make our lives easy. Our pollution alerts will inform you about the air you are breathing and also suggest precautions to you,” AnkurSingla, founder and CEO of Helpchat, said in a statement.

The app shows the Air Quality Index (AQI) reading from zero to 500, with zero marked as the cleanest and 500 the worst air quality. It also sends an alert to the user’s smartphone, if the app senses air quality getting below a certain point.

In addition to this, the app suggests areas that a user should avoid visiting in their city, so that users can plan their travels accordingly.

Since pollution and its impact are directly linked with the weather conditions, Helpchat app also tracks the weather and provides real-time updates.

The app is available on Android and Apple phones.
