Students of Alphores Educational Institutions took out a massive rally on Monday educating people to “say no to crackers and yes to earthen lamps” for Diwali.
Students carrying placards and banners against the use of crackers for the festival stated that bursting of crackers would cause harm the environment with sound and air pollution.
Instead, the students called upon people to celebrate the festival brightly by lighting the earthen lamps.
The students arrived in a procession from Vavilalapalli to the Indira chowk and raised slogans against the use of crackers for the Diwali festival.
They also pledged that they would not use cracker for the festival and celebrate Diwali by lighting only lamps.
