UGC sponsoring two-day event at Malur
The Government First Grade College at Malur in Kolar district is conducting a two-day national-level seminar on ‘Global climate change - issues, challenges and policy implications’ on August 25 and 26. Minister for Health and Family Welfare U.T. Khader is slated to inaugurate the seminar at 11 a.m. at the convention hall of R.G. Hotels and Resorts on Hosur Road.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has sponsored the seminar in association with the Department of Collegiate Education.
S. Bisalaiah, former vice-chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences-Bangalore, will deliver the keynote address and Malur MLA K.S. Manjunath will release a souvenir. College principal Chandrashekhar Nangali will preside over the function.
Participating experts
Ganpathi Venkatasubramaian, Centre for Environmental Studies, Anna University, Chennai; S.K. Sing, YMCA University, Haryana; Shivaramu H.S. of GKVK, Bengaluru; and Prakash Vir Khatri of Shraddhananda College, New Delhi, are among the experts slated to present papers on various topics, conference organising secretary W. Shanthakumar told The Hindu on Monday.
H. Shivanna, vice-chancellor, University of Agricultural Sciences-Bangalore, will deliver the valedictory address on Wednesday.
