Plant a sapling through Ola app

BANGALORE: Ola, one of the largest cab aggregator in the country launched `plant a sapling' campaign through its app. On the world environment day, the company launched this nationwide campaign wherein, any citizen can plant a sapling between June 4 and 8.

All you need is to click the Ola Money section on te app, apply the code—GoGreen and recharge a sum of Rs100. Ola will plant a sapling on behalf of the customer, through Sustainable Green Initiative, an organization that works on climate change issues. All users who participate will also get a digital certificate mentioning the location of their sapling, which can help them identify their tree years later. The certificate will be received in 15 days with details of the sapling.

Anand Subramanian, Director, Marketing Communications, Ola said, "To plant a sapling, is a simple gesture, and yet will go a long way in contributing to sustainable development of the environment. Millions of customers who use the Ola app can now do their bit by planting a sapling with a few taps on their smartphones, this World Environment Day! We encourage all our users to come forward and contribute towards making our surroundings greener."

It also announced Ride a Bike Today where commuters of Chennai and Bangalore could reserve a bicycle using a new `Bike' icon on the app on Friday between 9am and 3 pm. These bicycles will be offered free of cost. In Bengaluru, the event was conducted at EGL, Domlur, Manyata Tech Park on outer ring road.
