On Friday morning, Union Minister of State for Environment, Forests and Climate Change Prakash Javadekar visited Cubbon Park in the city and interacted with members of the local walkers' association and citizens during their morning walk.

He heard their complaints and assured that he would discuss the issues with the State officials.

Walkers and local citizens complained about the sewage being let into the park from neighbouring buildings. They said the sewage was damaging the flora and fauna of the park.

They also complained about the loud music being played by pubs around the park, which causes noise pollution.

Environment ministers of all States would meet on April 6 and 7 to discuss various environmental issues, said the Minister, who is in the city for the BJP National Executive meeting, said.

They demanded ban on movement of vehicles in the park during weekends and intensive tree plantation to improve the green cover of the park.
