Javadekar said the environment ministry had become a ministry with a negative face as it always hit the headlines whenever it restricted any project or development. He said that he has tried to change the image by clearing several projects from various other ministries, including those from defence. He said that he told the officials of his own ministry that environment ministry would have a policy statement 'Desh Bachega To Paryavaran Bachega' (environment will be saved only if the country is safe). Javadekar said that he would be handing over the list of projects cleared to union minister for power Piyush Goyal next week.

Continuing his style of working with a difference and despite opposition and resistance from within his own department by a few bureaucrats, Javadekar would be launching a unique initiative of inviting big ideas for reviewing policy of his ministry from select officers between the group of 35 and 45 years.

Javadekar informed that officer in the age bracket have put in a fair amount of service and still have many years before retirement. That is the reason Javadekar said that he would be holding three Chintan (brainstorming) meetings with 200 such officers.

He told that the meetings would be held in Bangalore, Bhopal and Kolkata so that entire country is covered. He said that there would be 2-day Chintan meetings at all the three places and he expects the officers to come up with new ideas that can transform the style of functioning of his ministry.
