Wild life week training programmes

Vinay Luthra, PCCF (wild life) on Wednesday has recently launched a blog on the green initiatives of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Rural Energy and Development (MGIRED) open to public. The blog contains information on various steps that MGIRED desires to take up to protect environment. The initiatives are remote village electrification using renewable energy sources, integrated solid waste management, construction and deployment of smokeless chulas in and around wildlife sanctuaries to reduce fire wood demand and help in combating climate change etc. Public can interact with MGIRED through this blog for further information on any of the initiatives in case they are desirous of being a part of the initiatives.

Later Luthra spoke about wildlife management and measures taken by the forest department to protect the same.

A short documentary on importance of protecting Butterflies was screened and information on the Wildlife Crimes Wing of forest department was shared with the participants to help in managing the illegal wildlife trade.
