Barking deer 'killed'

The district police recovered body of a barking deer from the jungles near Smargarh village under Ratiburh police station area on Friday evening. The villagers claim that the animal was killed by the poachers.After recovering the body, veterinary doctors from the Fanda Development Block performed a post-mortem of the body and stated that the animal died of dehydration.

However, injury above its right eye was visible. The villagers informed police that two persons Badshah and Nabbe Pehalwan from Budhwara locality of the city had come for poaching last night and probably they killed the deer. The police has not registered any case so far.
