PURI: Chairperson of National Green Tribunal Justice Swatanter Kumar on Sunday reviewed the implementation of directives issued on coastal zone management and pollution by the Tribunal.
In response to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL), the Tribunal had directed the district administration to take legal action against the coastal zone violators, minimise air pollution at the Swargadwar, treatment of effluents from the Jagannath temple at Pejnulla Kona and mitigate pollution and sanitation on sea beach.
Collector Arabind Agarwal, Additional District Magistrate Udhab Charan Majhi, Planning Member of Puri Konark Development Authority SK Panigrahi and Executive Officer of Puri Municipality RK Pattnaik apprised Justice Kumar of the progress made on execution of Tribunal orders.
