Dust storm brings down temperature

LUDHIANA: Dust storm in the city on Wednesday afternoon brought temperature down by 1.5 degrees Celsius. Weathermen have forecast another dust storm in the next 24 hours, and the weather is likely to remain dry. Sudden dust caused much inconvenience to commuters. According to officials at Chandigarh meteorological department, temperature on Wednesday was 44.5 degrees as compared to 46 degrees recorded on Tuesday. Minimum temperature was 27.8 degrees.

Head of department at the School of Climate Change, Punjab Agricultural University, L K Dhaliwal, said, "The dust storm is expected to re-occur on Thursday but there wont be any rainfall."

A student from Model Town Jigyasa Khanna said: "No rain forecast is disheartening. The dust will not settle unless it rains." Maximum temperature recorded on PAU campus was 42 degrees and the minimum was 27. 8 degrees Celsius.
