CHENNAI: With the objective of raising awareness about the need to preserve the environment and prevent pollution, a cycle rally was organised by Project GreenHands of Isha Foundation, in association with the Tamil Nadu Cycle Club, as part of World Environment Day celebrations here on Sunday.

Around 100 cyclists participated in the ‘Cycle to Work’ rally, flagged off by former director general of Police R Nataraj at VHS Hospital on Rajiv Gandhi Salai, and rode along the route from Madhya Kailash to Siruseri to promote the use of bicycles instead of motor vehicles that cause air pollution. Nataraj also planted a sapling on the VHS premises. Project GreenHands also plans to plant 40 lakh saplings throughout the State. Yves Rocher Foundation is the international partner of this project.
