An awareness campaign to encourage sustainable solutions, the ‘Cycle-O-Thon’ ride was organised by students of Sreenidhi International School on Tuesday on the occasion of Earth Day.

One saw students speaking enthusiastically about reducing pollution, saving resources and saving the planet. The students spoke of their understanding of their responsibility towards environment-related problems and take the onus of giving the future generations a better tomorrow.

The students also spoke about how action is just not limited to vicariously dreaming about it and why it is important to put that extra effort to bring a change in the world.

The ride begun in the wee hours from Sanjeevaiah park near Necklace road where young riders promoted the idea of using of bicycles to curb the ever growing problem of air pollution.

Silver medalist at the Asian Para Cycling Championship Aditya Mehta was a special invitee at the event who encouraged the young riders by pedaling along with them.

The students took a loop of seven kilometers before ending the ride at Sanjeevaiah park.
