Forest officers should crackdown on hunting and poaching activities in Navi Mumbai

Some recent reports suggest that there is illegal poaching going on at Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Mumbai.

It was reported that deer antlers were found outside the park. This incident shows there is no co-ordination among officials.

It also shows the absolute failure of the park security system.

Small-scale poaching and hunting are quite possibly happening in the area. The unregulated flow of tourist has also affected the tranquillity of the park.

I appreciate NGO PAWS, which has taken up the issue with the authorities.

The forest authorities should start patrolling the forest in the night; they should crackdown on poaching and hunting, and stop all illegal activities inside the park.
