The three men were arrested for killing the great Indian bustard and houbara birds in Ganganagar. They even got their photographs clicked with the dead birds.

They hunted the birds to get their photographs clicked with them like erstwhile rulers. A large number of such photographs have been recovered. They were presented before the chief judicial magistrate on Saturday, from where they were handed over to the forest department on three-day remand.

Specialist, DFO, BR Bhadoo and Madan Singh Boda will be coming to further help in the case and make it strong, so these poachers get the punishment.

Chief conservator of forest, Govind Sagar Bhardwaj said that the men were poaching wildlife for over a decade. They have confessed to killing large number of godawans and their local links in Jaisalmer have also been found.

He said these poachers are not alone, there is a big gang behind these poachers. Based on photographs and live CD, a plan was made to catch them and teams of 20 forest officials headed by DNP official deputy director VK Bissa. The teams raided Ganganagar and Karanpur on Thursday and caught three poachers who were arrested under wildlife act and brought to jaislamer. They are being interrogated and were presented in the court, from where the magistrate sent them on remand and handed over to the forest department.

He said that poachers were poaching for enjoyment and royal pleasure and after poaching they used to take photographs with the wildlife like rulers. The forest department got the photographs after which they launched the campaign. The poachers have killed large number of godawan and houbara birds and more poachers are associated with them and efforts are being made to nab them.
