Two-year-old leopard found dead

INDORE: Two-year-old leopard was found dead on Friday in Malpur Village of Alirajpur district. Forest department ruled out any poaching attempt. Post mortem has revealed that the leopard died due to stroke.

Villagers spotted body of the leopard under a bridge on Barjhar-Malpur Road under Azad Nagar and informed forest officials.

Chief Conservator of Forest (CCF) P C Dubey, said that post mortem shows that two year old leopard has died after its heart stop functioning due to shock. Shock might be due to heat stroke or may be the animal was weak and suffering from some ailment.

It is the second incident of the death of leopard in Azad Nagar in last six month. Earlier, a mutilated body of leopard was found at Chhoti Pol Village.

Dubey said that few months back, villagers had killed a leopard in Chhoti Pol Village. Five people were arrested.
