AHMEDABAD: The forest department has decided to equip the only Ramsar site in the state - Nalsarovar - with the latest equipments and additional staff. The department has directed the deputy conservator of forest Sasi Kumar to prepare a master plan to curb the incidents of poaching.

A meeting will be held next week to decide on the staff and other equipments required. The decision follows the Monday incident where the forest officials nabbed two persons from Ramgarh village during patrolling. The lake is known for its floral species which include Typha Angustata, (Gha-bajariyu) Bakheda, Gondaro, Dilo, Chigo, Thek, Kando among others. The officials said a search operation was carried out for four hours in the Ranagrah village by the department.
