To conserve our environment and make Earth a better place to live in, Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has urged scientists to evolve strategies to meet climate-related challenges and asked people to plant maximum number of saplings.

On the occasion of International Earth Day, the CM claimed that the Haryana government had taken effective steps to check pollution and create awareness among people.

To work towards maintaining ecological balance, students of Ryan International School on Sohna Road in Gurgaon initiated organic farming on campus on Monday.

They started farming in small areas within the school complex and plan to sell the vegetables produced to the teachers.

The fund generated from this exercise will be used in creating awareness on protecting the environment.

In yet another event held to mark Earth Day, Attero, an electronics asset management company, in association with NGO Care, joined hands with Glaxo SmithKline Consumer Health Care Ltd, Indigo Airlines and Quest Diagnostics to organise an e-waste collection drive in Delhi-NCR.

The 10-day initiative aims to keep e-waste out of landfills and facilitate eco-friendly recycling.

Office premises of Indigo Airlines, Quest Diagnostics and Glaxo SmithKline Consumer Health Care have installed Attero’s e-waste collection boxes where employees can drop their old electronics for proper disposal.

More than a billion people globally participate in Earth Day activities every year, making it the largest civic observance in the world.
