BHOPAL: A leopard was found dead in the Mukki range of Kanha Tiger Reserve (KTR) on Monday. The carcass was found near Sondar area, during the elephant patrolling, said park director J S Chouhan.

It's a two-three year old female leopard, he said.

Chouhan ruled out any poaching attempt stating that preliminary investigation found all its vital organs including hide and nails were intact. It seems that the leopard was killed by a predator, probably a tigress that was seen in the area frequently along with three cubs, he said. This is the fourth leopard death in the state in the last one month.
