Diesel vehicles increasing pollution: Minister

NEW DELHI, Dec 17: The growing number of diesel vehicles is negating all efforts made to reduce air pollution by phasing out diesel buses and converting them to CNG, parliament was informed on Monday. Environment Minister Jayanthi Natarajan told Lok Sabha that the Environment Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA) in a recent report has stated that the benefits of CNG (compressed natural gas) transition are not visible due to growth in diesel vehicles.
