RAMESWARAM (TN): A Wildlife Crime Control Bureau would come up this year in Ramanathapuram district to prevent smuggling of endangered species from India, official sources said.

The bureau would have units in Chennai and Ramanathapuram where smuggling of Sea Cucumber, Sea Horse and other endangered marine species have been frequently reported, they said.

The unit would closely follow information on smuggling and prevent poaching and illegal trade. Wildlife and Marine experts would assist the bureau, they said.
