GUWAHATI, Sept 30: At a time when the entire State is seething with anger over successive rhino deaths in Kaziranga National Park (KNP) in the past one week, another rhino was found dead on Sunday evening near Halodhibari Forest Camp in KNP. With this, the total number of rhino deaths has risen to seven. Meanwhile, forest officials rushed to the site on hearing about the rhino death. The cause of the rhino’s death is yet not ascertained. Sources suspect that the rhino drowned to death as water has inundated the park. On the other hand, taking into account the recent spate of rhino killing in the State, the Assam Government has ordered a CBI probe into all incidents of rhino poaching in the State in the last three years.
