A resident of Mohkampur Gram Sabha claims to have manufactured a mechanical device which can reduce the carbon pollution generated by combustion engines. Ram Mahesh, who is an employee of the Public Works Department had worked for many years to build this device which he believes can drastically reduce air pollution.

A portable version of this device can also be attached to two-wheelers and four-wheelers which use both petrol and diesel. While exhibiting the working of this device on a sugar-cane crushing machine, Mahesh said that by altering the present structure of this device it can also be used on railway engines.

The Mohkampur-Khurd Gram Pradhan Usha Devi said, “Mahesh has achieved success after toiling on the machine for many years. However, this device needs to be improved and developed further which can be achieved with the cooperation of the State Government.” Developing this device and installing it on vehicles will drastically reduce air pollution in the city and could also prove to be a development that could benefit environment on a broader scale, she stressed. Local environmentalist Dr Manoj Sharma appreciated the effort put in by Mahesh and his device. Considering the alarming increase in air-pollution in towns across the nation, this device should be developed further to reduce pollution.
