Haryana Chief Minister on Sunday said that Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) has prepared action plans for the abatement of pollution of Faridabad and Panipat towns and based on these action plans, the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests have lifted the moratorium on setting up of new industries in these towns.

Hooda while dedicating to the people a Common Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage, Disposal facility set up at Pali in district Faridabad said that HSPCB was contemplating online processing of applications in respect of consent for efficient and transparent clearance. If this project of processing of online NOC applications succeeded, other services namely, consent to operate; grant of authorisation and cess collection might also be included in the ambit of online services in due course.

He also appealed to the owners of industrial units to come forward and conserve water bodies and ensure that only properly treated effluents are discharged. He said that the industry should also discharge its responsibility towards environmental protection and take appropriate measures for control of water and air pollution in and around their units.

Hooda said that industrialisation and urbanisation have made waste management an important challenge. These days the concept of cleaner technology and minimisation of waste are being adopted globally to reduce the generation of waste at the source.

He further said that the State Government has recently announced a new Industrial and Investment Policy. The HSPCB is working in tandem with this new policy for sustained growth of industry.
