EnviroConclave at IIFM Bhopal on October 9

The Climate Change and Environmental Core Competency Cell, a students' academic cell of the Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal is organising 'EnviroConclave 2010', a national conclave on October 9.

The theme of the conclave is 'Climate Change: Challenges and Opportunities for Businesses in the 21st Century'. The events planned for the day include guest lectures by leaders in the field of environment management, panel discussion on 'Challenges and Opportunities in Climate Finance', paper presentation by students from across the country on 'Technology and Climate Change' and a workshop for forest officers and development professionals on 'Scope, Potential and Way Forward to Tap Carbon Benefits from Forestry'.

Many accomplished professionals from organisations working on climate change mitigation and adaptation including WWF, IFMR Trust, ITC, RBS Foundation, Deloitte India, Ernst & Young and KPMG have been invited as resource persons and guests. Harvest Energy Private Ltd, and National Afforestation and Eco-development Board (under Ministry of Environment and Forests) are the main sponsors of the events.

The conclave will be attended by working professionals, researchers, academicians, representatives from NGOs and students drawn from premier national institutes. The conclave will conclude with a cultural performance organised by SPIC-MACAY in association with the Cultural Club of IIFM.
