Executive search and staffing firm Sequence Staffing and the nonprofit Greenhouse Gas Management Institute this week launch a second annual international survey to determine work force needs of the climate change industry.

This year’s survey will ask more than 10,000 climate change professionals to assess the industry’s projected growth, its training requirements and the ability to meet the growing need for greenhouse gas monitoring.

Results of the survey are expected to be released this summer.

“Our focus is to acquire valuable data on the industry to better understand and quantify today’s complex needs for trained personnel measuring emissions and managing related climate change data throughout the world,” Frank DeSafey, vice president of the Roseville staffing firm, said in a news release.

Last year’s survey made national headlines when the climate change experts polled indicated the world’s carbon trading markets are vulnerable to accounting scandals.

“Sequence is proud to help sponsor these ground-breaking surveys because they aid us in learning what the concerns are for leading professionals in the field and provide keen insight in the future course of our recruiting needs,” DeSafey said.

Sequence Staffing makes job placements in the environment, construction, engineering and climate change industries. The Greenhouse Gas Management Institute trains experts that account, audit and manage greenhouse gas emissions.
