Oct. 22: The UK government, which is publicising the doomsday scenarios at public fora to push for a climate deal at Copenhagen Summit in December, on Thursday launched a climate map showing impact of unfettered climate change.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown earlier this week warned of a "catastrophe" if action to tackle climate change is not agreed at the Copenhagen Summit and two of his ministers, foreign secretary David Miliband and energy secretary Ed Miliband, who are brothers incidentally, on Thursday launched the climate doomsday map at the Science Museum in London.

The map highlights some of the human impacts that may occur if the global average-temperature rises by 4 degree Celsius above the pre-industrial climate average.

The impacts on human activity shown on the map are only a selection of those that may occur, and highlight the severe effects on water availability, agricultural productivity, extreme temperatures and drought, the risk of forest fire and sea level rise.
