There is some good news for the animal lovers and conservationists of the State as they now have the facility to report wildlife crimes directly to the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA). The NTCA has offered the online facility for reporting wildlife crimes through its official website.

With the help of this facility, anyone can log in at the official website and use the option for reporting the crime and the report would be submitted to the authority with just one click. Notably, the State Forest Department is facing lot of pressure for tiger deaths and on several occasions, the feud after tiger deaths arises that the death was a natural one or a poaching case.

Notably, the authority is concerned with the increased crimes against the wild animals and the State has also reported various wildlife crimes in the last few years. With its scarce resources, the Forest Department often fails to detect the crime and nab the offenders.

Besides, the wild animals kept at Van Vihar after being rescued from various circuses across the State, now could be put in the display area. Central Zoo Authority (CZA) is mooting a proposal for authorising the rescue centres across the country, like Van Vihar, for displaying these animals to the visitors.

Till date, the rescue centres are only entitled to rescue the wild animals, confined by the circus owners. There are around 11 lions, 17 sloath bears and other animals at Van Vihar, which have been rescued from various circus groups.
