ERODE: Residents of Maravapalayam, coming under Suriyampalayam town panchayat, have sought district administrations intervention in solving the air pollution in the locality. In a petition to the Collector the residents have said that smoke and fumes from a tannery in the area was making life difficult for the 2,000-odd residents, who have been living there for very many years.

The residents have petitioned the administration several times and have also threatened to launch an agitation on September 24.
