GUWAHATI, Aug 17 – Noted litterateur and veteran journalist Homen Borgohain on Monday observed that the concerned section has made many efforts to save the world of nature from human-inflicted depredation and one such attempt was creating awareness through the pen.
This thought was shared by Borgohain after releasing Bipanna Basundhara Aru Kisu Chinta penned by young writer Kabir Saikia at a function held in the Guwahati Press Club.
Borgohain said that the world of late has been plagued by myriad problems and one grave danger that has threatened the very existence of the world was the deterioration in the environment on account of human ravages. Borgohain also regretted man’s lack of concern towards the environment and warned that by continuing to harm nature man was inviting his doom.
Borgohain also referred to the issue of climate change and stressed the need for attitude change in the people to save nature. Lauding the book writted by Saikia, Borgohain said that it was relevant to the situation and was the need of the hour to spread awareness amongst the people.
It needs to be mentioned here that Saikia’s book published by Kaustubh Prakashan, Dibrugarh is a collection of articles on nature, environment and science.
