Effects of global climate change discussed at Halem

HALEM, April 16 – Madhya Chaiduar Bijnan Samiti organised a talk on the topic, ‘Climate change’ at Swahid Mukunda Kakati Model High School on March 31 with financial aid from Assam Science Society and full co-operation of the school authority.

The meeting held on the occasion was conducted by Arpana Bora, headmistress of the school. Rupam Rajkhowa, a science teacher explained the objectives. Deva Kumar Kataki, vice-president of MCDBS and Nilamani Sarma, general secretary of the Society talked elaborately on the topic as resource persons. They discussed the long-term effects of global climate change.

Sarma also exhibited some exciting games on mathematics with the aid of innovative play material. Pabitra Saikia, assistant headmaster of the school spoke as guest of honour.

The meeting started with a chorus led by Lenina Das, a mistress of the school. Prior to the lecturer, there was a plantation drive in the school compound.
