SALEM: The Salem Tree Club has appealed to people to participate in the Earth Hour 2009 initiative and switch off the lights for an hour from 8.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. on March 28.
Powerful message
The initiative launched by the WWF, is aimed at sending a powerful message to world leaders and policy makers urging them to take effective action on climate change and global warming.

People from the club urged the people in Salem city to join the global initiative and switch off the lights.
