Speaking after inaugurating a seminar on climate change at Tungabhadra College here, he said spurt in mining, industrialisation and rapid deforestation have led to climate change.

Town Municipal Council Executive Officer Anupama said the changes in climate not only have their impact on the environment but also on the food chain.

President of the district unit of Kannada Sahitya Parishat H Chandrappa said industries enable development, but alternative methods are necessary for the environment protection.
