Rally to spread awareness of global warming

PUDUCHERRY: The Government Girls High School, Kalapet, on Wednesday, conducted programmes including a rally, talks and field work as part of the National Environment Awareness Campaign. The National Green Corps of the school along with CPR Environmental Education Centre, Chennai, organised the campaign.

Headmaster M.K. Vasudevan flagged off a rally to spread awareness on global warming.

The students distributed pamphlets with messages on climate change to the public, said a press release.

The students of National Green Corps and Community Service Scheme took up sanitation works at Ayyanar Koil, Puthupattukattu, and removed plastic garbage from the locality.

A talk on climate changes was also held for the students. Demonstrations on renewable energy sources and conservation of energy were held. Saplings were planted.

Headmistress G. Gomathi and teachers were present at the campaign celebrations.
