GUWAHATI: In yet another loss to the Kaziranga National Park, a three-year-old tiger was found dead on Friday. Park director S N Buragohain said the foresters came across the tiger's carcass in the sanctuary's Kohra range.

"The tiger was infested with maggots and had several injury marks on his head," he said.

With this, the death toll of big cats in the national park has risen to five in the last 45 days. Buragohain said an adult male tiger, seen near the carcass, might have killed the adolescent big cat.

"Such things are common among them," he said and ruled out poaching.
