Environment and Wildlife Film Festival from Feb. 5 to 7

Hyderabad: In an attempt to create awareness on the hazardous affects of climate change among young minds, Hyderabad CMS Vatavaran, an Environment and Wildlife Travelling Film Festival is being held in the city from February 5 to 7. The event is being organised by Centre for Media Studies.

30 films

Over 30 award winning films on nature will be screened at the three day event at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Basheerbagh that is likely to see participation of students from 150 schools apart from corporate houses and college students.

Vatavaran will also have seminars on climate change where eminent speakers will throw light on environment related issues such as conservation of livelihoods and symposia on water for all, to name a few.

“The movies to be screened at the festival have already created an impact globally. We want to create more awareness with this event so that there is some action taken regarding the issue,” said Festival Manager Ashwini K. Sinha during a press conference here on Monday.

Moreover, the event will see painting competition, photography exhibition on climate change and also display of green products, technologies and initiatives.

The film festival began in September last at Leh and was conducted in seven cities and Hyderabad is hosting the festival for the second time, said Mr. Ashwini.
