2 hardcore poachers held

| DERGAON, Jan 20 – The forest team of Golaghat Division caught two hardcore poachers from Afalagaon and Kemeri Chapori within the last 24 hours. According to information a team of well equiped staff led by Golaghat DFO Diganta Barbaruah carried out an operation at Kemeri Chapori under Kamargaon PS and caught one hardcore poacher Nomal Doley (45), son of Munia Doley of Kemerichapori. The poacher who was hiding in his granary was caughtr by the staff.
On interrogation the poacher confessed his involvement in poaching. A hand made gun was recovered from the drain of his residence. The poacher himself confessed that he killed two rhinos with this gun. Regarding the killing of the female rhino at Afala on December 25 last he revealed that Rs 2 lakh were received as advance from the party for killing the rhino.
