Management institute joins world wide fund for nature

HUBLI: Hubli education trust's institute of management studies has become an institutional member of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

P Venkatesan, WWF senior sales manager of Karnataka state, recently visited the institute and addressed the students about the objectives of the NGO and how students could help in its endeavour. He had said WWF is an international NGO working for the conservation, research and restoration of environment with its mission being to halt and reverse the destruction of the environment.

He said WWF is world's largest independent conservation organization with over five million supporters working in more than 90 countries on 100 projects related to conservation and environment. The NGO is concerned with endangered species, pollution and climate change.

In reply, the staff and students promised to promote the noble cause with active participation. A plan is being readied to undertake environmental schemes in the city.
