Hyena found dead in Chhatarpur village

The Chhatarpur district forest department officials have recovered the body of a hyena from a remote village in on Thursday. The villagers have spotted the body in the morning and passed the information to the district forest officials. However it was not clear that the wild animal was hunted or died due to any other reason.

According to the information, a body of a Hyena was recovered from a remote village in Chhatarpur. First of all the villagers spotted the hyena, which was carrying multiple injury marks. The villagers quickly passed the information to the forest department officials, who reached the spot and took possession of the body.

Local officials have reportedly claimed that it is not a case of poaching and the hyena died due to an accident. Principal Chief Conservator Forest (Wildlife) HS Pabla on the issue has informed that detailed information is yet to reach the forest headquarters in Bhopal. He however accepted that they have received reports that remains of a hyena have been recovered in any of the remote village of Chhatarpur.
