Bangalore: The Chairman of the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), R.K. Pachauri, asked entrepreneurs to take into account the threats and opportunities posed by climate change while preparing their business plans.

He said climate change exposes industries to vulnerabilities, especially those in “high-risk locations”. “Industries,” he said, “need to build effective climate-risk strategies.”

He was addressing the Entrepreneurial Summit organised by TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) in Bangalore on Thursday.

Dr. Pachauri asked entrepreneurs to take into account the “changes in consumer preference” which has arisen because of the growing awareness about climate change.
