Norway to invest in State eco-projects

Bangalore: Norway proposes to invest a significant amount of its $770 million-worth emission reduction programme spending on projects in India, said Therese Wagle Bazard, Counsellor, Royal Norwegian Embassy.

Inaugurating the Indo-Norwegian Environment Programme (INEP)-sponsored seminar on “INEP and environmental intervention in Karnataka”, she said that it would include investments projects in Karnataka as well.

Already invested

She said that Norway had so far spent around Rs. 375 million on environmental programmes in Karnataka.

The joint working group on environment between India and Norway, she said, was currently discussing collaboration on clean development mechanism, climate change, eco-city development, waste management and renewable energy.
