Dehradun: Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh Forest authorities have decided to work in a better coordination to check poaching and other anti-wildlife activities in the Corbett Tiger Reserve.
The southern boundary of the park that is in close proximity to Bijnore Forest Division of Uttar Pradesh has been in thick of such anti-wildlife activities in the recent times.
National Tiger Conservation Authority Rajesh Gopal, who was on a two-day visit to Corbett on Monday, called for better coordination between the wildlife authorities of the two States. While brokering talks between the Uttar Pradesh and Uttarkhand wildlife authorities, Gopal expressed concern over rise in the incidents of activities of poachers in the southern boundary of the Reserve.
Encourse of the discussions, Uttar Pradesh Chief WildLife warden Suman sought the inclusion of Amangarh forest range of the Bijnore Forest Division in the buffer zone of the Corbett.
