A roaring crowd greeted actor Salman Khan when he arrived at his Bandra residence on Friday night after a six-day stint in a Jodhpur jail.

The actor, who avoided waiting media and fans by entering through the back gate of his building, later appeared at the balcony of his first floor sea-facing flat, surrounded by family members and his lawyer Deepesh Mehta.

Clad in a full-sleeved grey shirt, and smiling and waving to fans, Salman appeared happy and relieved. He waved and saluted the crowd, and even shook hands with one brave fan who ventured to climb up the parapet and reach the balcony where the actor was standing.

Salman was granted bail by the Rajasthan High Court on Friday afternoon, six days after a Jodhpur sessions court upheld his conviction and five-year sentence for killing a chinkara.

Brother Arbaaz, sister-in-law Malaika, trusted bodyguard Shera and lawyer Mehta, all had beaming smiles on their faces as they watched fans wave to Salman.

“We thank the fans, we are grateful to the Jodhpur police and the Bar there. Salman has spent six days in prison. He has his private life, so we request you to get back to your business,” Salman’s lawyer Mehta said while appealing to the surging crowd outside.

Earlier, Salman arrived by a chartered flight from Jodhpur and was whisked away in a black Mercedes to his Bandra residence.

Outside his Galaxy Heights flat, fan frenzy reached to such heights on news of his impending arrival that police had to resort to a mild cane-charge. More than Rs 75 crore is riding on Khan.
