Ahmedabad, April 2: One person has been detained by the CID which is investigating recent incidents of poaching of Asiatic lions in the Gir sanctuary.

Sources said the person belongs to a village near the Babariya range where six lion carcasses were found on March 3 and March 29. He is suspected to have links with an inter-state gang.

While officials are tight-lipped about the identity of the person, they say more arrests are likely to be made based on information extracted from him.
